Home Again.

Well the summer in New York has come to an end.

I've now been home for 2 days, and am back to getting the psychological bed sores and laying around the house all day.

My intership took a spectacular turn in the last 2 weeks, and I was given the chance to really do alot of good work for Mara and the girls. I couldn't be more proud of myself for rising to the occasion. I was given some incredible opportunities that led to having a garment I constructed walk at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Unless you've been under a rock the past 5 days, (or are just new to my blog) you know this already. When my plane landed back in Houston and turned on my phone, my phone lit up with a message from Dom saying my garment was walking as the finale piece, and I instantly shit the floor. (metaphorically, obviously)

After posting the photo on facebook, the support I have receieved has been astounding, and is certainly keeping my momentum going. I hate to sound like a washed-up country-oinger acceptance speech, but I feel so so so blessed for this experience.

Mara, Dom, Denise, Dana, and Danika I will never be able to thank you enough for e v e r y t h i n g.

Rewinding a few hours, My last night in NY was rather uneventful, aside from a fabulous dinner at Max Brenner. I had been dreaming on this restaurant visit since day 1, and it finally happened. spinach and artichoke dip is always a default have-to if its on the menu, and for my meal i had mac'n'cheese. (no surprise there) My much-awaited dessert was Tempura Banana Fondue. YUM. My pictures are floating around somewhere on my Mac, which I dont have internet on at home, so it may be a few days till I find them and post them. From there we had a few drink at Bar None for the last time, and headed home to finish tipsily packing.

Woke up early, said some goodbyes, got coffee with Pauleen, a few more goodbyes, and it was off to LaGuardia and to Houston.

Although home is pretty boring, Im so happy to be back with my mom, and ready for LADY GAGA this weekend!!!!!!!!

Last Weekend :(

The last full wekened in NYC :(
Friday night we had our Dinner Dance Cruise on the Hudson. Gorgeous!!!!!! I love any chance to get dressed up, eat tasty food, and spend time with friends

The next day, I went on the Sex and the City Tour, how exciting! I wish we stopped more places, but i was nice to go around the city, see different things, and NOT have to walk for a change. Cosmos!

The next day i was dead set on going to central park, which thanks to the rain, never happened. but we walked around, last minute shopping, were gonna go to the Top of the Rock, but didn't feel like spending the money,

Here's to the last week on the job, last week of the city, and last week of my friends :(

My Bad

I totally forgot to post after last weekend.
I guess I feel worse because now my stories, etc aren't as vivid.
Soooooo Arielle went out of town again, and after I quit crying in my bed and eating ice cream, Pauleen, Laura, and I went back to the Penny Farthing, and had ourselves a wonderful meal, again! (I love that place) Laura then went home to fall asleep (real cute) so Pauleen and I hit the town and celebrated Fishbowl Friday at BarNone.

Saturday we headed to the Museum of Natural History. It was cooooooooool. Alot of stuffed animals, but super fun.

From there we took the subway down, WAY down to the Village and did some shopping and exploring and finally, eating. We ate at B Bar & Grill, It was really pretty and I SWEAR it was on Sex & The City, but I could be wrong. Food was really fun, and I had Banana Fritters for desert. I love a good fritter.

That night, of course we went out and actually tried some new places, the first one was a FLOP. $5 cover? and then when we asked if they took credit, we got a smartass response (welcome to NewYork) HELLO pals from TX, everywhere I've been I've been able to pay cover with a card. how annoying, nyc.

From there we went to the next stop on the itinerary, Revel. I've come to learn that the West Village is real gay. Literally. Which of course isn't a bad thing, until you get acquainted with New York Gays. catty, rude prima-donnas. This place was filled with em. Though it was a real classy joint, the drink prices were even "classier" Boooooo.

En route to the next place, walking down the side walk, some fool on a bike ride past me and spanks my ass, and ride off.

Dats Cute.

I was furious, and the night was dunzo!

FOURTH OF JULY!
Woke up and got dressed real patriotic-like, and decided to have a low-key daw of local sight-seeing with ma girl Pauly V. (Pauleen) I live across the street from Union Square, but never stopped to enjoy it, and also frequent the Washington Square Park area. So I finally decided to go and take some photos, and grab another Crumbs cupcake on the walk between the two. It was a VERY hot, but very enjoyable afternoon.

Got home and changed clothes REAL quick, and headed out to eat dinner before the fireworks!
Dinner was at the Brass Monkey in the Meatpacking District, right off the water. Another wonderful grilled cheese and Sex-on-the-Beach :) They are also the proud employers of THE hottest bartender I have ever seen in my life. Yes sir. and to make the night perfect, he was talking to an absolute scrub the whole time.

Firework time!
Headed out to Pier 54 and bum-rushed thru the police baracades with a few hundred other people, and saw a fabulous show

Back to the monkey for more drinks till about 3:00, then took the L back to Union Square and the Dorm.

Monday I slept late, and literally chilled in my room and it was incredibly enjoyable to have a day off.

This weekend looks promising, my last one in NYC. I'm buying a bigger memory card for my camera tomorrow (I'm still using a 256 MB one form 6 years ago; thats about 120 pictures and its FULL. embarrassing) Tomorrow night the Dinner Dance Cruise on the Hudson, I'm very excited for it. Then my last week of work :( thats terribly sad, I'm not gonna go there yet.

I'll update after this weekend for sure. I promise.
