Last month I had the privilege of attending the Houston Ballet; naturally I needed to stress myself out and make a dress to wear. I die a little on the inside when I go to events like this and I'm not able to bust out and emphatic "I made it myself!" when asked where I got my dress, outfit, etc.
With one partially finished dress was declared a disaster, I had complete intention to make an altered version of this Wildfox Couture dress:
I opted for a more springtime-friendly color choice to liven things up a bit, and the pattern-making and constriction began.

Fit Muslin |
Couldn't have been happier with how it turned out. It fit like a glove, which was tough considering the fabric had no stretch whatsoever.

It wasn't until a few days ago I was creeping around on StyleStalker's site and I saw this little treat:
Unbelievable! That's the same dress I just made! Shame on me,because it was from their winter collection. I should have already seen it but missed it somehow. I guess that explains why the fabric store would have that exact color. Loved my dress regardless. A few little things to fix on it still, but nothing obvious.
Crazy.
